Wednesday 29 April 2026 Reception - Caterpillars At Ashmead Primary, we have been thinking about how nature changes over time, learning about how caterpillars turn into a chrysalis. Our caterpillars have grown by eating lots of food, and as they have gotten bigger they have shed their skin which was been really interesting to look at. They have now fully grown and formed a chrysalis, where they will rest and transform in a safe protective case. We are looking forward forward to seeing our butterflies hatch and being able to look at their wings up close! When they are ready we will release them into the playground and watch them flutter away.
