Planting in Reception

Throughout the term, children in Reception have been planting a variety of flowers and vegetables, including sunflowers, radishes, stocks, purple toadflax and New York asters in the outdoor garden, as well as sowing nigella, poppy and radish seeds in seed trays in class to observe germination. By caring for their plants and watching seedlings emerge.  We have also been  observing our spider plant, noticing the baby spider plants growing on the ends of long stems called runners!
