This is a blog aimed at showing all the great things happening at Ashmead Primary School, a small primary school in Deptford, south east London.
Ashmead Primary School is a one form entry school with space for 30 children per year group and 50 part-time nursery children. From September 2018 our ‘bulge’ class will be in Y6 and we will also have two classes (60 children) in both Reception and Y1.
The Local Authority have proposed that the school expands to a fully two form entry school and so the school is having some building work done to accommodate this. The new school building is due to be finished by May 2020.
The school aims to provide a safe, caring and stimulating environment in which all pupils have the opportunity to achieve their full potential and to become actively involved in their learning. The school encourages care and respect for one another, valuing the diverse needs and backgrounds found within our school community. The ethos of the School is very open and friendly. Parents and carers are highly valued, and the PTA of Ashmead provide a very active and strong support for the School. Our curriculum is supported by a wide range of extra curricular opportunities, visits for all classes throughout the school year and a residential experience for children in Year Six.
