Secondary Transfer

There are many good local secondary schools to choose from when your child leaves Ashmead. We would encourage parents and carers to visit their local secondary schools before they make their choices and not to rely on other people’s opinions of particular schools.

We run a Secondary Transfer meeting for parents and carers in the autumn term of year 6. During this meeting we are happy to answer any questions you have about the process and we can support with filling in the application form if needed.

Year 7s

When Ashmead pupils leave us at the end of Year 6, although we are sad to see them go, we are also excited for them to enter the next exciting stage of their education journey. We encourage the children to come back to see us once they are in year 7. We love to see them and hear how they are getting on.
