Last week at gardening club we put together our compost bin, we weeded some of the beds and gave everything a good water. We found a few tomatoes that were ready to eat and sampled a few carrots. We also picked heaps of spinach (most of which was washed and eaten within minutes).
Today it was time to harvest the remainder of the carrots and the golden beetroot. The rainbow carrots were small but beautiful and very tasty. The golden beetroot had grown really well and was deliciously sweet! We moved our water butt and filled it to the top to make keeping on top of the watering much easier. We really wanted to share our harvest so we delivered it to the staff still at school who were amazed by the Ashmead carrots 🥕🥕🥕
