In Literacy we are reading ‘The Tiny Seed’. It’s all about a tiny seed’s journey to becoming a beautiful healthy plant! Today we sorted out the life cycle of a flower, using our book to help us. We are very lucky as one of our friends brought in 3 sunflower seedlings for our class to look after, so we will be seeing the story of ‘The Tiny Seed’ in real life too! We talked about where our plants were in their life cycle, and noticed they had leaves, but haven’t flowered yet. We all agreed that to give our sunflowers the best chance of becoming tall, healthy flowers we need to give them plenty of sunshine, fresh air, water and soil. This also inspired some flower drawings on the creative table, complete with labels!
